Map production

A hand-drawn map of your destination, from any viewpoint you choose.

A panoramic map shows a destination the way you see it from above: peaks, valleys, villages and trails in a single view. Visitors find their way faster than on a conventional map, which makes it one of the strongest promotional tools a destination can have.

We draw in the infrastructure, natural and cultural sights, and cycling and hiking trails, and add a legend with pictograms, photos, texts and the position of the destination on a map of Slovenia. On request we also produce a town plan that matches the panorama in style.

All Panorama products are original authored works.

Any viewpoint

  • The destination shown from any angle, not only facing north
  • Not bound to a cartographic scale
  • Emphasis on the landscape you want to promote

Clarity

  • A simpler, clearer view of the destination
  • A better sense of space
  • Colour shading and 3D landscape make the area easier to read

Map content

  • Legend with pictograms
  • Natural and cultural sights
  • Cycling, hiking and walking trails
  • Photos, texts and position on a map of Slovenia

How a panoramic map is made

Every map is an original artwork: we draw it first, then it takes its final format.

Final formats

You can use the same map in several ways.

How we work together

From the first conversation to the finished map.

  1. 1Viewpoint and areaTogether we decide where we look at the destination from and how large an area the map should cover.
  2. 2SketchWe prepare a layout sketch and, if needed, refine it in one or two further versions.
  3. 3Drawing the mapWe draw the map by hand. When the drawing is nearly finished, we add roads, place names and buildings.
  4. 4Trails and legendYou mark the cycling and hiking trails for us as comments in a PDF, and we draw them into the map. We prepare the legend, place the pictograms and make the corrections.
  5. 5Content and final formatRight at the start we agree how much space is left for content next to the map on a board, or on the back of a tear-off map or folded map. You can prepare the photos and texts along the way, and we lay them out, design them and prepare everything for print.

We prepare the map in about a month.

Tip: before we start, collect a list of the points, trails and content you want on the map. That way it will be ready for print sooner.
