A new school world map in the Equal Earth projection
In September 2026 we presented a new wall map of the world in the Equal Earth projection, which shows continents in their true proportions. Six schools ordered it in the very first month.
Most world maps in classrooms still use the Mercator projection, which greatly enlarges areas near the poles. Greenland looks almost as large as Africa, although Africa is in fact about 14 times larger.
The Equal Earth projection keeps the true proportions of areas while preserving the familiar, clear shape of the continents. We produced the map entirely ourselves, in Slovenian and with the content pupils need in geography lessons.
The map is printed on durable tarpaulin in a 200 × 120 cm format, with two wooden bars and a cord for hanging. For homes and offices it is also available as a wall panel.
